Jobs Around Teesside, September 2026

This is a record of real jobs we did across Teesside in September 2026, written up in our own words. No customer names, no addresses, nothing that identifies anyone. Just what the work actually looks like, because it is a better guide to what we do than any service page.

Most of it is Marketplace collections and single item moves, which is the work we do most and the work we are quickest at. If you have bought something collection only that will not fit in your car, this is the kind of job we mean.

A Marketplace sofa, one Yarm house to another

A sofa bought on Facebook Marketplace, collected from one house in Yarm and delivered to another. The seller only needs to be in for the pickup and the buyer for the drop off, and a run within Yarm sits inside the first five miles, so distance barely comes into the price. This is the most common kind of job we do in Yarm, and it is why we ask for the listing photo when you book: it lets us give a fixed price rather than an estimate.

Kirklevington to the Lake District, in stages

A couple in Kirklevington were leaving the area for the Lake District and had furniture that was staying in Teesside: a couch, a chair and a dresser going to their son's house, and other pieces going to friends. Rather than one big move it was several runs to different addresses. Splitting a move like this is often the sensible way to do it when things are going to more than one place, and it suits one person with a van far better than it suits a lorry.

1960s chairs, Stokesley to a Redcar flat

A set of retro chairs from the 1960s, bought from a seller in Stokesley and delivered to the buyer's new flat in Redcar. Older furniture like this gets blankets and a bit more care than a flat pack box, and a flat means checking the stairs before anything else. A pickup at one end of Teesside and a delivery at the other is a normal booking for us, and it is the kind of run that makes buying second hand across the whole area practical.

What These Jobs Have in Common

Three things, and they are the same three every month.

The photo decides the price. Every one of these started with a screenshot of the listing or a picture of the item. Furniture descriptions are unreliable through nobody's fault: a "small sofa" and a "two seater" can be the same thing or two very different things. A photo takes fifteen seconds and it is what lets us give a fixed price rather than an estimate with room in it.

You only need to be in at one end. For a Marketplace collection the seller is in for the pickup and you are in for the drop off. Nobody has to take a day off to sit in for a sofa.

Distance barely matters inside Teesside. The £50 minimum covers the first five miles, then it is £2 a mile. A run inside Yarm, or Stockton to Middlesbrough, sits inside the free five entirely. Even Stokesley to Redcar, one end of the area to the other, adds only a modest amount. What moves the price is how much is going and how far it has to be carried to the van, which is why the photo and a line about the access matter more than the postcode.

If a job is going to more than one address, like the Kirklevington one above, say so when you book. Several short runs on one booking is a normal arrangement and usually the sensible way to do it.
